As with most writers, I've sought every possible opportunity to place my thoughts on 'paper' no matter my current career. From blank greeting cards to online rants, I've never missed a chance to exercise my skills and advance my craft.With my latest move to marketing copy, I found a new way of expressing myself. I set aside my bucket of $10 words and learned to communicate in a manner understandable by anyone over the age of 12. I discovered that my natural tendencies were actually well-established rhetorical methods of persuasion and that care with one's words was paramount.Along with these new truths, I discovered a burning passion for helping others to hone their craft. To tell them which word to change to gain the desired result -- and why.My love of writing is exceeded only by my passion for helping others grow their skills. Sitting in a close third is my penchant for out-of-the-box solutions to difficult problems.I am a rare beast in the land of corporate and marketing communication -- a talented writer with callused, injury-covered hands. Whether you need your copier fixed, your VPN updated, fresh brakes on your car, or a letter that will leave your competitor in tears, I'm your man.I can understand business-speak but try not to use it and never trust it to do anything but obfuscate reality, which is something I abhor. I say "Yes," far more often than I say "No," but I will never speak a word I don't personally believe to be true.I consider obstacles temporary regardless of size or difficulty and, when faced with one, immediately begin plotting my course over, under, around, or through. I find worrying to be wasted energy.If we meet, I will impress you. You will find me friendly, forthright, and a touch odd. You won't understand what it is, exactly, but I suspect it will be the fact that I don't lie, ever. That, and the fact that, while forceful enough to make people think I'm taller than I am (so odd, that), I'm also rather shy and awkward in group settings.I suspect, had I been born later, I'd have been granted some spectrum title to hide behind. I wasn't -- so I'm just that quiet, intense, friendly guy who likes to sit near the back yet always ends up leading the team. Effectively.You could say I was born for the home-based work model long before it was an option. I'm hyper-smart, determined, reliable, eager to succeed, and just a few degrees off from being the guy you'd ask first to come to your party.I'm a talented writer, a better teacher, and an exceptionally loyal worker.
