My name is Bruce Fagen and I am a 2D cut-out animator and rigger with more than 4 years of experience working in television and film. I have a Dec in Fine arts from Dawson college as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in animation from Concordia University. I also had the privilege to study abroad at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in the department of animation and interactive media.Since graduating from Concordia University, I have worked as a cut-out animator at Oasis Studios and Tonic DNA. In that time, I have learned the professional pipeline of animation. I am very well versed in Toon Boom Harmony and the entire adobe suite. I have utilized a vast array of tools such as the master controllers, deformers, graph editor and many others.In that time I have earned a proven ability to collaborate with a team, as well as found myself in positions to both receive and give feedback. I have helped those in a junior position learn new tools to help them improve and navigate technical bugs, while also accepting the same feedback and guidance from those in a more senior and supervisory role. I am very good at following direction and working autonomously. I am very organized and efficient with my time. I also have a proven ability to maintain an enthusiastic and friendly attitude while working efficiently, diligently and collaboratively under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. I am also very adaptable, I am capable of picking up new software’s and working with an ever-changing schedule. I do not get fazed when a new task or project comes across my desk. I like to refer to myself as the utility knife of animation, put me where you need me and I’ll get the job done.
