This company operates skilled nursing homes, behavioral health hospitals, homecare and hospice agencies, rehabilitation and nurse practitioner provider entities, and a pharmacy distribution business. The company was entering the zone of insolvency as we arrived, and had been in covenant default on their bank debt for over a year, primarily due to the failed installation of a new Electronic Medical Record system. We reduced corporate overhead, improved the revenue cycle, rebuilt and reinstalled the EMR, and restructured their bank debt. When we transitioned out after 21 months on the project, the company had over 75 days cash on hand, an overall improvement in Medicare Star Ratings for their nursing homes, and a fully functioning EMR.
