Manage the Quality Department (budget plus 3 direct and 7 total) and interface with the local Production and Engineering Department and corporate R&D to make consistent product and drive continual quality improvement.

Responsible for managing the Environmental and Quality departments. Total of 13 reports with 5 direct reports. Responsible for all aspects of environmental compliance and permitting at site and for all product quality. Also responsible for the management of the entire IT/IS department. This included:•Both State NSR Air Permit and Title V permit •Waste Water Discharge Permit (including Storm and Potable) •Small Quantity Waste Generator •Full laboratory that conducted testing on oil, coke, and water •ISO 9001 certified •IT/IS: Site network, email, programs, hardware, licensing, internet security and policies•Various technology development efforts

Position primarily involved coordinating the technical design of an HDS (hydro desulfurizer) unit at the facility. This project was approximately $50M. Involved in all aspects of design including process, process control, infrastructure, specification, safety, and environmental permitting calculations. Other tasks performed in this time frame include: *Process support for existing needle coker*DOE and statistical analysis of the existing process to improve quality and lower cost*Other projects of various size and complexity (up to $1M)

This position involved the day to day and long term operation of a new technology. It was the first gas-phase EPDM facility and was in its developmental stage.Position ended with Dow Chemical acquiring Union Carbide.

Was a contractor for Lockheed Martin and sub-contractor for NASA at JSC. Worked in their department for continuing development of new technology concering life support systems for future manned missions in deep space and Mars.
