Track record of building and growing software and technology companies, spanning early-stage and privately held businesses to more mature public corporations. In my current role at Francisco Partners (a leading private equity firm in technology) I leverage my past go-to-market approaches, best practices, and management experiences to help the portfolio companies improve. I also act in interim senior executive level positions within the Francisco Partners portfolio and also an advisor to several of the portfolio company boards.Prior to my private equity shift I played significant leadership roles in three company exits; a regional startup through to acquisition, a turnaround of a publicly traded software company; and the scaling (entering at $10M) an emerging SaaS company resulting in a record setting acquisition by Oracle Corporation.
In 2010 I joined early stage TOA Technologies taking on the lead revenue role and partner with the CEO resulting in the largest acquisition ever of a SaaS based field services management solution. From 2002-2010 I played a key role in turning around the fortunes of publicly traded company (Portal Software) by inserting new energy and an overall wider lens leading to a turnaround and game changing acquisition by Oracle Corporation. After staying on with Oracle for 4 years we built out the newly formed global business unit growing it from $125M to $400M in annual revenue. From 2000-2002 I played a key role in building out the Americas for UK based startup (Geneva Technology) leading to an accelerated exit and increased valuation in under two years.Ten years of strategic consulting and business development from 1990-2000 with EDS (Acquired by HP) and AMS (Acquired by CGI).A graduate of Husson University (Maine), Husson honored Grainger as a distinguished alumnus in 2007, and he was elected to the Husson Sports Hall of Fame in 2014 as part of the induction of the entire 1988/89 national ranked mens basketball team.
