My role is to cenetered around client focused teams performing Protection & Control and Substation Physical design. Over the last 4 years our team has been responsible for the successful integration of multiple solar collector stations to the Duke Energy Transmission network. I also have P&C experience for various other clients including Kissimmee Utility Authority, Indianapolis Power and Light, & Georgia Power Company. I am currently working with our Ann Arbor team on DTE Energy projects involving substations, power plants and custom applications including Transformer storage, and complex cable tray solutions for combined cycle power plants. My overall responsibilities include design, budget management, team management, meeting/presentation organization, material processing/coordination with internal and external teams (Project Management, Transmission Line design, Substation design, P&C, Construction, Civil, Environmental, Settings, Telecommunication, & Client).I have supervisor experience and I am currently responsible for a few direct reports. I manage their work load and stay attentive to their career goals. I love recruiting and mentoring new engineers to build successful teams with engaged young professionals. I find providing them with the insight they need to navigate this industry and achieve success in their career to be extremely fulfilling.

My role was to assist the Substation and P&C departments in on-going substation projects. I edited and drafted schematics and wiring diagrams of various substations, their components and control houses. Through this experience I learned the process of creating, protecting, controlling and maintaining a substation. Components I have become familiar with are high and low voltage circuit breakers (69kV/25kV/12kV), transformers, load-tap changers, current and potential transformers for metering and relaying, voltage regulators, feeders and Schweitzer products for protection and control. While at SECO I was also given substation safety training and shown proper procedures for working within that environment.
