Bruce Heintz, now retired, enjoyed a pioneering career as a management consultant for professional services firms. He advised law firms on strategic management issues and helped law firms, Big Four accounting and major consulting firms expand their key client relationships. Bruce was a partner for ten years in the management consulting division of a Big Four accounting firm where he chaired that firm’s Law Firm’s Group and, later, served clients through his own practice, Heintz Consulting LLC, and via a collaboration, Aronson/Heintz Associates LLC.Those who sought Bruce’s assistance included: 39 AmLaw 100 largest law firms in the U.S.; one in four of the major American law firms that went out of business during a transition in the professional services industry; a number of premier corporate law departments; several city attorney offices; and many other exceptional law firms (for a total of 140 legal organizations); along with all four of the Big Four accounting firms and several global management consulting firms.Assistance provided to law firms included: strategic planning, governance, management, profit improvement, partner compensation, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, and client relationship management.Assistance involving professional firm client development was comprised of onsite client interviews and satisfaction assessments at a total of 195 organizations, including more than half of the Fortune 100 companies, resulting in individual client service expansion plans and firmwide client engagement strategies. In providing this support, Bruce facilitated more than 100 law firm retreats, meetings and planning processes and conducted nearly 2,000 in-person executive interviews at the corporate clients of his professional firm sponsors.
