In August of 2017, HGGC, a Palo Alto based Private Equity firm purchased the company for $446m.

Established with Partner Frank W. Gay II, Clarte' Capital, LLC acquired Solaray, Inc. of Ogden, Utah as it's inaugural acquisition in October 1993. New acquisitions in the nutritional supplement field were conducted through a new company formed by Gay and Hough, Nutraceutical Corporation, where more than 50 acquisitions were made in subsequent years.

Formerly Bonneville Satellite Corporation - As founder and president of Keystone Communications, Hough pioneered the use of satellites for broadcast communication for sports, news, and entertainment programming for all the major television networks, CNN, C-Span and the Japanese International Satellite Organization, and hundreds of local television stations. Hough built and operated studio and transmission facilities in New York, Washington D.C., Hollywood, San Diego, and Salt Lake City. He developed some of the first teleconferencing and distance learning applications and built corporate and private networks for Apple Computer, Tandy Corporation, Hilton Hotels, American Red Cross, and the largest satellite networks in the world for both hospital and religious organizations. Keystone acquired The Robert Wold Company combining the two leading broadcast satellite communications companies into the largest re-sale carrier of televised communications. The Society of Satellite Professionals awarded Hough the Pioneer in the Broadcast Satellite Industry Award.
