Prior to healthcare, he ran several multimedia & IT companies with clients including the Australian and US governments, DSTO, US Navy, Boeing, USDA, Alfred Health, Centre for Health Innovation, Victorian government DOJ, Deloitte, Medibank Private, BBC, BHP, GM, Holden, Fuji Xerox, Mars, Seven Network, Linfox and hundreds of others.Within 1Unit, Bruce complements Dr Jason Stein’s deep clinical knowledge and experience with his own broad non-clinical view as a healthcare consumer, change maker, program director, and business leader. Bruce is responsible for much of 1Unit’s training videos and program features and is constantly looking for opportunities for improvement. He is especially interested in ways in which 1Unit’s programs can deliver more benefits to hospital units that result in sustainable improvements in patients and staff experience.In 2003, Bruce set up a research and development team to create an online simulation technology that grew into the VastPark virtual worlds/simulation platform. Bruce studied VC finance at HAAS, UC Berkeley and his interests include teamwork, entrepreneurship, disruptive technologies, and building a smarter, healthier world. He has spoken at conferences around the world including SXSW, I/ITSEC, and many others. As a teen, he programmed computer games. From age 19, he worked in film and TV production. Bruce rode the digital wave of change that swept away the traditional media industry. These days, he mentors several startups.
