Bruce Schofield is a 23-year veteran law enforcement officer with a demonstrated history of working in law enforcement and emergency management. Prior to his law enforcement career, Bruce worked for several different public safety agencies as a reserve firefighter, ocean lifeguard, emergency management coordinator, paramedic coordinator, and reserve coroner’s investigator.During the past 29-years, Bruce has worked as a canine handler, trainer, and master trainer of explosive detection canine teams. During this time, he has certified over three thousand explosive and accelerant detection canine teams from numerous federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies including ATF, CIA, DHS, DHSES, FBI and USMS. During a nine-year period, Bruce assisted ATF personnel in the training and imprinting of hundreds of explosive detection canine teams from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps at numerous military bases in both the CONUS and OCONUS prior to their deployment to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa.Bruce has served on numerous federal, state, and local advisory boards and committees. Bruce has served as a member and subject matter expert on the National Explosive Detection Canine Advisory Board (NEDCAB), the Scientific Working Group on Dogs & Orthogonal Detector Guidelines (SWGDOG) and the California State Fire Marshal’s Office, Accelerant Detection Canine Team Standards Task Force.
