I am a futurist. I excite the imaginations of others with what I believe is possible, like becoming a leading organization in our field or gaining a competitive advantage. But I don’t stop there. I use my strategic skills to see alternative paths to the goal and determine what works best for the organization. I then take these plans and put them into action.Areas where I have seen the future and made it into reality.• Over $60M of investment in freight infrastructure for the Houston Port Region to ensure the development of the freight infrastructure at the US’s busiest port. This investment will also reduce traffic congestion and decrease emissions that impact global warming.• Realization that a Canadian rail accident would result in regulatory changes that would cost my company significant money. Proactively negotiated out of lease arrangements with no early surrender charges.• Developed the crisis care ministry for the largest church in the US. Established vision for the organization. I formed a leadership team of 13 and developed a training program for over 200 volunteers.• Provided direction for Port Houston’s first D&I Roundtable and DE&I Action Plan activities. My expertise in operations, supply chain, logistics in industries like chemicals, oil, and metals has helped with my success. But much of it has been through relationship building and strong communications skills. You’ll see me talking to everyone, from the janitor to the CEO. I have been on numerous boards and currently am the Acting President of the North American Rail Shippers Association because of my relationship skills. Being empathetic, possessing active listening skills, providing timely feedback, and a strong bent towards training and mentoring others I know set me apart from other operationsprofessionals. I bring people together to move towards a common goal. I am open to connecting with other like-minded individuals. Reach me at brucecharlesmann@gmail.com.
