Consulting services for Novell and legacy Tally Systems customers working with ZENworks Asset Management, ZENworks Configuration Management and TS.Census products, primarily for upgrade and license management projects. Engaged with Novell channel partners to collaborate on projects. Worked with Novell training services to develop a formal 3-day ZENworks Asset Management training course which I am certified to present.

Inbound product manager in Systems and Resource Management business unit. Directed engineering teams in the U.S. and Bangalore (India) for maintenance and enhancements to ZENworks Asset Management and inventory functions of ZENworks Configuration Management. Conducted briefings for media and ratings organizations (Gartner, SIIA-CODiE) and presented to customers and partner community. Maintained designs for ZENworks Reporting Server. Managed publication of monthly product recognition email announcements and content for periodic news feeds to customer management consoles.

Worked with Novell and legacy Tally Systems customers to provide services for TS.Census and ZENworks Asset Management products, primarily for upgrade and license management projects. Engaged with Novell channel partners to collaborate on projects. Performed extended project at Novell to define and design reporting capabilities for ZENworks Reporting Server.

Novell acquired Tally Systems in May 2005 for the inventory technology in TS.Census to replace existing ZENworks inventory tools. Technology Specialists provide pre- and post-sales technical support to direct and partner sales communities for the Systems and Resource Management (SRM) business unit. Familiarity with ZENworks Suite components; expert in ZENworks Asset Management (the rebranded TS.Census). In-person presentations and web seminars, proofs-of-concept. Maintained in-house inventory database used to create public demonstration systems. Quality Assurance testing for introduction of ZENworks Configuration Management, in particular the area of user experience converting from ZENworks Asset Management and how the Tally Systems technology integrated into the new ZCM product. Provided pre- and post-sales support for next generation inventory software TS.Census. Presented in-person and web-based sales presentations and live demos as well as proofs-of-concept. Customer implementations were usually 3-day on-site projects to install the database and core infrastructure, deploy client-side software, create custom reports, and train customer representatives; occasional full implementation projects ran 10-15 days. Wrote and maintained templates for team deliverables, including 80 +/- page implementation project deliverable and Crystal Reports templates. Also maintained all database documentation. Core member of group created to use the NetCensus hardware/software inventory product to provide inventory services for channel and direct customers. Responsible for primary customer contact and management of Team Leaders, who in turn manage technicians performing data acquisition. Responsible for setup and maintenance of software tools and delivery of clean inventory database to the customer. Individual projects ran 2-6 weeks; position required between 60% and 75% travel.

Responsible for the design and desktop publishing aspects of all Marketing, Sales and product documentation. An expanding product set, plus localization of all materials into French, German and UK-English significantly increased the document and page count under maintenance. Marketing materials were substantially revised 2-4 times annually, with at least one complete revision of all language versions for each product. Managed vendor relationships for product packaging and documentation printing.

Tally Systems succeeded DTSS in May 1990, building and marketing the NetCensus and DataPass products. Installed customer base grew from 75 to 300+ during first eight months. As one of ten former DTSS employees invited to join ownership group, provided support in several areas, including marketing materials, bi-monthly newsletter, magazine articles and press releases. Designed and wrote all product technical documentation. Managed all facets of product manufacturing and shipping, as well as production of Sales and Marketing materials. Provided all technical support; trained new support manager.

Management, quality assurance and compatibility for all corporate software products, including mainframe timesharing OS, PC-based communications package, and PC inventory product. Coordinated internal software control/update procedures; assembled periodic customer releases. Created technical release documentation, provided field support for implementations and customer training.
