Dr. Bruce McIvor, lawyer and historian, is a partner at First Peoples Law LLP, a law firm dedicated to defending and advancing Indigenous Peoples' inherent and constitutionally protected title, rights and Treaty rights. His work includes both litigation and negotiation. Bruce is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading practitioner in Canada.Bruce is dedicated to public education. He publishes widely and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Allard School of Law where he teaches the constitutional law.Bruce holds a law degree as well as a Ph.D. environmental history and is a Fulbright Scholar. He is called to the bar in British Columbia and Ontario. Bruce's great-grandparents took Métis scrip at Red River in Manitoba. He is a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation.
