Responsible for managing the AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management system including oversight of the internal audit, corrective/preventive action system and document control. Primary contact for external audits and responsible for continuous improvement of the QMS.

Ongoing process FMEA development via cross-functional teams and continuous improvement for all production processes, participated in System FMEA teams for improving Maintenance and other non-production processes, internal auditing of the quality system, and other improvement projects as assigned.

Responsible for: developing bills of material, product routings, heat treatment process, and process sheets for the mass transit and industrial component product lines; requirement verification and order approval for industrial component product orders; producing mass transit/industrial molding documentation for both molds and cores; and continued assistance with foundry engineering and metallurgical issues.

I was responsible for defect reduction and product improvement for our mass transit and industrial component product lines. I also supervised the chemistry lab, including the disposition of off-analysis melt heats and reviewed new orders to ensure requirements could be met.

Responsible for defect reduction, molding QC, and process improvement for the high volume product line, including both AAR railcar truck and coupling components. I also filled the role of plant metallurgist and supervised the chemistry lab. In addition I worked to improve quality documentation in various areas and worked in the technical side of quoting and contract review (specifications, metal grade determination, heat treatment, NDT, etc.).

My responsibilities included producing and maintaining a documentation master list, bringing under document control the wide range of un-controlled documentation in use, production of new documentation of foundry processes and quality systems, and ensuring that new documentation met customer and industry standards as well as ISO 9001 requirements.
