Bruce R. Wilk, P.T., O.C.S. is a board certified Physical Therapist, President of The Runner's High, head coach of The Miami Runner's Club. Bruce has been and continues to be an avid runner for the past 36 year and triathlete for 18 years.Bruce Wilk is a licensed physical therapist since 1981 and the director and founder of Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialists in Kendall. Prior to that, he was a medical adviser with Allied Health Insurance and a lead clinician at MetraHealth. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He frequently contributes sports-related injury articles to medical journals.A lifelong runner and amateur triathlete himself, Bruce understands firsthand the importance of the right shoe and the right fit for any physical activity. Bruce’s professional experience in treating sports injuries has led to the regular assessment of technique and shoe wear when evaluating injured athletes. His in-depth inspection of running shoes revealed an increasing incidence of manufacturing defects that can lead to new injuries or aggravate existing ones. These defects usually go unnoticed when someone is buying new athletic footwear, and it has become standard procedure in his practice to counsel his patients regarding the quality of the footwear they rely on. The Runners High is a natural involvement of Bruce’s dedication to helping athletes of all levels get the most out of their chosen activities.

The Miami Runners Club welcomes athletes of all ages and ability levels. We are a club that prides itself on the diversity of its members. In a multi-cultural community we are a force that brings its people together with the common goal of spreading the word of fitness and good health throughout South Florida and beyond.We have something to offer everyone: from our youngest youth member to our most seasoned race day participant; from the runner who logs 80 plus miles per week to the runner whose claim to fame is finishing her first one mile fun run; from race walker to fitness walker. We encourage and applaud all efforts. Club membership offers years of experience, advice, encouragement, information, friendship, and camaraderie.A weekly update, detailing the events of the week, is sent via e-mail to all current MRC members. Included are times and locations of our various runs, special events, and announcements of discounts and other items of interest to club members.
