Highly experienced in state of the art – techniques in cell separation, product recovery, and refolding of protein inclusion bodies. Successfully developed, scaled and transferred production processes for a number of biopharmaceutical molecules to contract manufacturing organizations or in-house manufacturing facilities. Very experienced with construct design, clone screening, protein expression, and fermentation scale-up using Pichia methanolica, Pichia pastoris, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and E.coli. Proven group leader with strong project management skills. Before joining Takeda Vaccines, Bruce worked in BioProcessing for Novo Nordisk (Novo Labs, Novo Nordisk Bio-Industrials, and Novo Nordisk Entotech), ZymoGenetics, Alder BioPharm and Upstream BioSolutions. Bruce received his B.A. in Microbiology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Bruce also attended graduate school at SIU - C, earning a M.Sc. in Biological Sciences
