Recently projects included the migration of a VMware infrastructure to Amazon AWS instances supporting a complex clustered Liferay web site deployment.

Directory Services Architect for Extranet and Intranet implementations. Task included Directory Services (LDAP) schema and DIT design, load-balancing, fail-over, and replication; Identity Management design, hardware-sizing, and high-availability.

Responsible for project documentation, analysis, design and implementation of directory infrastructures and enterprise security at client sites utilizing Oblix NetPoint software. Oblix NetPoint software enables the publishing of directory infrastructure resources, delegated management of the directory infrastructure resources & delegated policy management to enable authenticated and authorized access to web resources. Work involved installation, configuration and customization of LDAP Directories such as Netscape, iPlanet & Active Directory, Web Servers such as iPlanet, Apache & Microsoft IIS. Documented functional requirements & design issues to meet business objectives in heterogeneous enterprise environments. Tools and customizations were developed using C, Shell scripts, XML, HTML, Java Script and Perl. Worked with clients throughout the US and Europe in pre and post sales engagements.

Developed and supported enterprise security and directory infrastructures at JPL. Responsibilities included design, implementation, and maintenance of JPL’s DCE / DFS cell architecture and administering a X500 LDAP directory servers on a Globally distributed architecture running on Sun Solaris workstations. Responsible for implementation of an ISOCOR/Critical Path Meta-Directory solution with a Netscape LDAP Directory Server, Oracle and other data sources. Responsible for the design and evaluation of security solutions to enable secure authentication and authorization for web and file resources, utilizing LDAP and DCE/Kerberos back-ends. Evaluated products from Oblix, Tivoli, and Netegrity to determine which would fit best in the desired JPL enterprise infrastructure. Administrative and operational tools were developed using C, UNIX Shell scripts, HTML and Perl. Closely monitored security issues, operational requirements, and worked with vendors to resolve issues when needed.

Responsibilities included developing scientific and educational applications as well as handling the UNIX and PC system administration. Developed applications to handle data processing and scientific analysis for the FAST, Polar, Cassini and other satellite projects. Developed the XSPACE educational software and other educational software for graduate level space physics courses used at UCLA and other Universities around the world. Application development was done on many UNIX platforms (Solaris, Sun OS, SGI, DEC, AIX and HPUX) using C, Fortran, C-shell, HTML, Perl, Motif, Openlook, and X11 toolkits. System administration tasks were executed on Solaris/SunOS and PC systems. System administrative tasks included developing tools, customizing software packages such as Splus, and Maple, maintaining legacy software, porting software to other platforms as required, and setting up and maintaining Apache and Netscape Web servers.

Responsibilities included software development for network management software on UNIX platforms using C, Motif, and X11 toolkits.
