I have always been an avid reader, so it only made sense that I would become a writer one day. After graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University with a BA in Writing, I've spent my professional hours gaining experience in all manner of sectors. I have worked with and on DEI teams, and truly believe in bringing equitable design and style to a company’s customer-facing content.I started out in the video game industry as a tester, and while I loved it, I didn't see a long-term home for myself. I did gain experience as a team leader, and worked alongside different developers in the industry on new titles, emulations of old titles, and on other mobile projects. I documented a significant amount of internal testing processes and in the last couple of years primarily managed the Playstation Vue mobile test team. After I made the switch to Tech Writer and Copy Editor for HP Inc., I worked with global teams to update, document, and track text string changes to HP Printers and in the HP Smart app. My work spilled over into the hardware side, software side, and mobile side of the company, which offered me unique experience in tracking both the big picture along with the intricate details. Most recently, I worked as a Tech Writer for BODi (formerly Beachbody On Demand), where my focus was primarily on customer experience. My work there was not only technical writing, but also administration of the support site. After analyzing customers' movements through tools like Medallia, I reworked several FAQ and Contact Us pathways to make the site clearer and more accessible. When implemented, several of these changes significantly improved our monthly satisfaction scores, resulting in overall lower contacts. As with HP Inc, I wrote for a variety of technical and casual platforms, from social media posts and emails to FAQs and internal test documentation. Many FAQs I created from very basic, technical documents, where I turned company jargon into customer-ready help content.
