Jun 2024 - Present

Postdoctoral Researcher

Eindhoven, North Brabant, Netherlands

Research carried out under the SuPerTandem project: - Testing multiple hole transport materials (HTM) in narrow bandgap perovskite solar cells. HTM were based on carbazole and phosphonic acid as anchoring group.- Investigating degradation mechanisms of multi-absorber perovskite solar cells, over long-term operation combining spectroscopy and physical characterization techniques.Part of ad-hoc committee member of EIRES hydrogen community - Structuring hydrogen research across TU/e;- Creation of an internal and external hydrogen-related network.

Msca Early Stage Researcher - Escaled Phd Project

Eindhoven, North Brabant, Netherlands

My PhD project focused on characterizing proton–exchange membranes based on new fluorinated polymers, molecular catalysts, and screen–printed electrodes in a lab–scale water electrolysis flow cell. Additionally, the water electrolysis flow cell was combined with perovskite–based multijunction solar cells to enable high solar–to–hydrogen conversion (> 20%).- Assembly of a lab-scale water electrolysis setup with temperature control and in-line gas chromatography, using LabVIEW for electrochemical analysis;- Optimization of narrow bandgap perovskite single junction and multijunction solar cells – in collaboration with TNO–Solliance (Eindhoven);- Characterization of ion exchange polymers, electrochemical and ion exchange properties.- Electrochemical analysis molecular catalysts, based on iron and cobalt in a flow electrochemical cell and 3-electrode setup.- Combining perovskite-based solar cells and water electrolysis cell;

Oct 2020 - Sep 2023

Guest Researcher - Msca Escaled Project

Pau, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

- Continuing the work on water electrolysis developed at the University of Stuttgart.- Patterning the screen-printed electrodes using a breath-figure method

Oct 2020 - Dec 2020

Msca Early Stage Researcher - Escaled Phd Project

Stuttgart Area, Germany

- Partial sulfonation of polypentafluorostyrene, to increase mechanical stability and water hydrophobicity in relation to the 100% sulfonated polymer.- Design of a 3D-printed water electrolysis cell.- Use of screen printed carbon-based electrodes with diverse patterns for proton exchange membrane water electrolysis. The electrodes were directly printed onto the proton exchange membrane

Oct 2019 - Oct 2020

Msca Early Stage Researcher - Escaled Phd Project

Mataró Area, Spain

From January to July, I was part of the Printed Electronics and Embedded Devices group in Mataró, Spain. Here, I worked on:- Carbon-ink formulation and optimization for water electrolysis electrodes;- Physical and electrochemical characterization of in-house screen printed carbon-based electrodes;- Blade-coating proton exchange membranes; The electrodes and membranes were printed over PET, glass and paper. From July to October, I moved to the Eurecat office in Manresa to be part of the Sustainability group. My task was to develop an life cycle assessment model of solar-driven water electrolysis device, an artificial leaf, that integrated new tecnologies (printed electronics), catalysts and membranes (developed by other early stage researchers), and perovskite solar cells as the photovoltaic component. The model was implemented using SimaPro software.

Master Thesis Student

Delft Area, Netherlands

I did my Master Project at TU Delft, The Netherlands with the title: "Molecular Layer Depositon of Polyester Films" under the supervision of Prof. ir. J. Ruud van Ommen and PhD student Damiano La Zara. This Master Project was about studying the effects of using different diols to obtain ultrathin polyester films on either inorganic and organic particles. The final aim was to apply this technique to functionalize drug particles or to suppress photocatalytic activity of TiO2.
