Received promotion to Head of the Site in 1990, which included Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and HR. Led the development of a solid state photocoagulator Laser, a new technology that Alcon decided to transfer from France to the USA. As the Head of the site, charged with:• Transferring the technology from France to Irvine CA which included building new capabilities in the USA and closing the site in France.• Insure appropriate skills sets were in place to be independent after the technology transfer Flawless execution in the required time frame and budget. In Irvine California, as part of R&D, convinced Alcon to fund a revolutionary design of a portable Laser photocoagulator named Eyelite, received promotion to Head of Cataract after its launch. Experience prior 1989 included Head of Manufacturing inclusive of Ophthalmic Diagnostic equipment, Laser therapeutic equipment, Photocoagulator, Photodisruptor.and then Head of R&D in developing the new technology.(532 nm solid state Laser replacing the Argon Laser)
