I established and managed the Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Committee, which reported to the Trust Board. I was also responsible for the delivery of the equality and diversity element of the Trust’s Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) course. I also led on a Black Country initiative to develop the implementation and training in order to deliver the NHS’s Equality Delivery System and have developed Training the Trainers handbook for other equality leads to follow, for staff to undertake their EDS grading and for Local Interests to carry out the assessments of the grading. In order to meet the requirements of the Equality Act in procurement and commissioning I developed an Equality Assurance Tool in order to ensure that the service being commissioned worked towards the General and Specific Duties.
