The President of the International Federation of Landscape Architects shall:1) Represent the world organisation in an effective, efficient, collaborative and cooperative manner in the best interests of IFLA and the profession; in accordance with the Constitution and the Strategic Plan. 2) Direct the Executive Committee operations and activities in close collaboration with all other elected officers and the IFLA secretariat.3) Take overall responsibility for the implementation and administration of the IFLA Strategic Plan in accordance with the approved timetable and financial constraints.4) Attend and chair the Executive Committee meetings, the World Council meetings and any other extraordinary general meeting that may be convened from time to time unless there are constitutional or exceptional personal reasons preventing this.5) Prepare and submit for annual distribution reports in a timely fashion for presentation at the World Council and other important meetings with interim reports being presented at Executive Committee meetings as appropriate

On behalf of, and in consultation with the Dean of the Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, the role of the Associate Dean (Academic Development) is to lead academic development of undergraduate and postgraduate student education, including matters of academic policy and procedures, developments in curriculum, courses and degree programmes across the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation.

My role is to bring design research and work with groups of talented and high achieving students within an exciting trans-disciplinary graduate programmes, in particular in Landscape Design studio teaching. In addition to research led design teaching at masters level, I teach courses in my area of specialization within the undergraduate and post graduate landscape architecture programmes.

The role is responsible for the good and efficient operation of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Landscape Architecture through academic leadership, including supervision of academic staff, external relations, quality assurance, curriculum, teaching development and research, academic process issues, admissions, grading, moderations, budgetary and operational advice.

Responsible for academic development of our postgraduate programmes in architecture, building science, interior architecture and landscape architecture

To provide support with undergraduate and postgraduate courses in landscape architecture, particularly in design studios. To review the existing curriculum and provide recommendations for enhancement and development. To assist with supervision of master’s and PhD’s students. To foster research opportunities and set up collaborations with academic staff as well as publishing journal articles. To provide oversight into administrative duties, professional networking and engagement.

The purpose of the committee is to plan, co-ordinate and develop IFLA’s overall communication strategy, including brand identity and image, internal (member) communications, external communications across the world, relationship-development with key global stakeholder bodies/groups, and general marketing and income generation (e.g. sponsorship) activities needed to promote the organisation (as a whole) and hence the profession of Landscape Architecture globally.
