As an English Master at Lumiar Pinheiros, I taught PBL ELT lessons to students ranging from 6yo to 19yo. The school uses a very particular shallow-end PBL approach which dismisses coursebooks and tests entirely. I managed a small, but highly efficient team that was result-oriented and made sure we hit all deadlines within a predetermined budget. Our trainers evaluated us in the second, third, and fourth quarters of 2022 and our work scored 96,7%, 91,6%, and 93,3% respectively.At Measurement & Assessment, I was responsible for commissioning and briefing authors for the production of assessment tools. I was responsible for the quality assurance of these materials which ranged from digital to print tests, quizzes, and any other tool used to assess learning and teaching. It has always been a very dear place to me because it was there that I studied and learned English.My mother enrolled me in the school when I was 9 years old and I left at the age of 16 after having finished the general English course, Advanced grammar, and Translation practice mini-courses. It was then that I knew that I wanted to be an English teacher and it has always been a dream of mine to come teach at an institution that has allowed me to be who I am today - a teacher. It was in July 2013 that it came full circle as I joined the school as a full-time teacher.As an English Teacher at Thomas, I worked with students ranging from 6yo to teenagers and adults. I also worked with all proficiency levels in a program that followed the principles of the communicative approach in a post-method era. At Thomas, we were encouraged to innovate and teach to the best of our student's interests. My mentor and DoS observed several of my classes and would give me constructive feedback on how to teach more effectively under the principles of the communicative approach.It was through this internship and guidance from my mentor and DoS that I got in touch with BRAZ-TESOL and started attending their events and courses.
