WATT3 has applied for and been successful in receiving $1m of funding with the 'Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’. Responsible for a mark-to-market (MTM) target of €4 M.• Set up an origination desk to provide commodity flow business for asset and proprietary trading. • Coordinated transaction completion with Trading, Analytics, Legal, and Risk Management.• Led negotiations for structuring the gas supply portfolio for a 400 MW CCGT merchant plant. • Coordinated with plant operator and trading team to structure operational requirements.• Successfully advocated Auction Revenue Rights as a model for the basis of EC/Swiss negotiations on Switzerland’s compliance of Directive 2003/54/EC.

Managed staff of eight for power origination and regulatory activities in Western Europe . Responsible for a MTM target of Euro 2 M.• Supervised execution of five-year plan and yearly budgets for Trading, Business Development and Origination, Risk Management, Legal, and Operations.• Identified new counterparts and negotiated standard and custom agreements for the trading of electricity, gas and energy derivatives. • Led policy development on market regulatory issues. Created and chaired Swiss EFET Task Force.• Restructured back office and scheduling from an integrated team into two seperate units, resulting in efficient and industry standard operations.

Developed and promoted tradable power products adapted to the needs of large French players. • Bid in the EDF VPP Auction and RTE (French TSO) tender for transmission losses, resulting in an MTM of €2.5 million.• Initiated negotiations and contractual agreements with several large French industrials and municipals for gas delivery contracts at the French/Belgian border.

Managed regulatory and governmental affairs for France and Belgium for the gas and power wholesale teams. • Represented Enron before relevant member state officials, as well as at the European Commission.• Participated in coalition consensus building through EFET. • Successfully advocated the Virtual Power Plant (“VPP”) release as a remedy in the EDF/EnBW merger hearings at the European Commission.
