Bruno Giussani is an author and curator of ideas. He was for 20 years, until 2024, the global curator and European director of TED, the organization behind the popular online TEDTalks, and the co-founder and curator of its climate initiative, Countdown. He has a sharp eye for happenings at the intersection of politics, climate, the economy, and technological innovation. Since joining TED he has curated over one thousand TEDtalks and interviewed leading figures on the world’s most pressing issues, in addition to being a member of the organization's leadership team for a dozen years and hosting numerous events around the world. Prior to joining TED he was an Internet columnist for the New York Times and a writer for numerous other outlets in Switzerland, where he lives, and in many other countries; the Head of Online Strategy at the World Economic Forum; a Knight Fellow and an Affiliated Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University; and a lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. He was also for five years to 2022 the Chairman of the Geneva International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights, and for 24 years to 2023 a member of the Board of Swiss software company Tinext, which he co-founded. He graduated from Geneva University. He advises public and private organizations and think-tanks.
