D'BROEJ, "the Brussels Organisation for the Advancement of Youth," contributes, through the development of initiatives in leisure time, to the emancipation (individually and in group) of children and young people in some of the more deprived areas in Brussels . Starting from their environment, the Brussels districts, we offer a space for positive experience where young people can develop their talents and skills.These youth actions aim to make children and young people socially aware and to provide them skills, attitudes and knowledge that help strengthen the development of their personality and their position in society. Through partnerships we want to give signals toward governments and aim for structural changes in the social agenda.In addition, D'BROEJ is developing a youth welfare pillar, with a number of preventive actions to groups of parents, teenagers and young people, where we work on the individual support for young people. We stand up for their rights and interests with a view to the structural improvement of their position in society.D'BROEJ association was founded on September 24, 2008 and from January 2010 actively working as a fusion association to its stages. Currently this: MJ Chicago (Brussels), Centre West (Molenbeek), Brussels Boxing Academy (Brussels), Ratatouille (Schaerbeek), Association of Moroccan Youth (Laeken), Peterbos (Anderlecht) and Chambéry ( Etterbeek).

De Welvaartkapoen vzw werd opgericht door De Vaartkapoen, gelegen in hartje Molenbeek, om welzijns- en sociale economie projecten te ontwikkelen. De Welvaartkapoen wil vooral inspelen op de behoeften van de buurt en op de competenties aanwezig bij de buurtbewoners. Zo heeft de organisatie verschillende initiatieven ontwikkeld in het kader van de sociale economie.De vervoersdienst, Welvaartvervoer, is gericht naar de mindere mobiele stadsbewoners.De VK*ateliers rusten op drie pijlers:•De retouchedienst en het naaiatelier•Het kostuumatelier: voornamelijk (theater-)kostuums voor gezelschappen uit heel België, maar werkt ook voor stylisten die een eigen collectie ontwikkelen•De kostuumcentrale in de Belle Vue-site aan de Henegouwenkaai in Molenbeek. Hier kan men terecht voor verhuur van kostuums en deskundige begeleiding bij het uitkiezen en samenstellen ervan.De Welvaartkapoen vzw heeft, naast de sociale economie initiatieven, ook een erkend lokaal dienstencentrum ontwikkeld, alsook een erkend initiatief voor buitenschoolse kinderopvang met verschillende locaties.

De Vaartkapoen creëert in Molenbeek en daarbuiten kansen voor en door ontspanning, ontmoeting, ontplooiing,hulp met als rode draad:een unieke versmeltende aanpak van cultuur, educatie, welzijn en werk.Vertrekkend van wat er leeft, treden we naar buiten met diensten, activiteiten, tewerkstellingsprojecten, samenwerkingen,... Zoals bijvoorbeeld: informatie & onthaal • concerten • cursussen • debatten • zaalhuur • (wijk-) feesten • schoolvoorstellingen • sociaal vervoer • vrijwilligerswerk • uitstappen • sociaal restaurant • kinderopvang • theater • retoucheatelier • Gemeenschapscentrum De Vaartkapoen (kortweg: de Vk*) is één van de 22 gemeenschapscentra in Brussel. Het centrum bevindt zich in de Schoolstraat in historisch Molenbeek. In de loop der jaren zijn uit het gemeenschapscentrum werkingen ontstaan die inmiddels gevestigd zijn in andere gebouwen: IBO ‘De Verliefde Wolk’ in de Vierwindenstraat 58 en in de Vandenboogaerdestraat 93, het tewerkstellingsproject van Vk*ateliers in de Sint Mariastraat 41 en het toekomstig Lokaal Dienstencentrum in de Begijnenstraat.

The Flemish Youth Council is the official advisory body of the Flemish Government on all matters concerning children and young people.All Flemish Ministers have to ask the Flemish Youth Council for advice whenever they want to make a decision with consequences for young people.The Flemish Youth Council promotes the opinions of children and young people and encourages Ministers to take these into account when making policies.The Flemish Youth Council gives advice on a wide range of topics, such as education, mobility, youth work, prevention, international affairs, ... All suggestions have one thing in common: they stem from the wishes, needs and interests of children and young people. Thereby, we see children and youth as fully fledged people, and not merely as ‘adults to be’, who still need to learn about ‘the way of the world’. We translate policy into what it means for children and youth, informing policymakers how they can make their policies work for children and youth.
