Since 2002, I have been working in R&D projects, initially in my doctoral thesis in the area of catalysis and petrochemistry and later in IDOKI SCF Technologies S.L. in the area of supercritical fluid technology. Since 2011 I have been working at AZTI (Food Research Unit) where I joined the area of New Foods (first in the sub-area of biomolecules and later in the sub-area of new foods), to change in 2012 to the area of Efficient and Sustainable Processes where I continue to develop my activity. At present, the projects in which I participate are focused on the reduction of waste generation in the food chain, through Ecodesign processes, clean production plans and the valorisation of by-products, always taking into account the environmental impact assessment of the different approaches. For them we work on biorefinery schemes and integral solutions that ensure the sustainability of the food chain at all levels, developing specific solutions for each of the cases evaluated. This holistic approach covers many other aspects outside the activity, such as the evaluation of infrastructure, logistics systems and synergistic options with other industries. As part of my responsibilities I carry out the planning and management of tasks, time and resources, as well as the coordination with other work teams both in the company's own projects and in inter-company collaboration projects or with technology centres and universities, both nationally and internationally.
