ABOUTBruno Oliveira Gonçalves (b.1982, Aveiro, Portugal) is an architect, set designer, artist and craftsman. Currently living in Gothenburg, Sweden.Master in architecture in 2013, graduated from the ARCA-EUAC, Coimbra, with a thesis under the theme “Sustainability in a Social Neighbourhood”. He studied sustainability, art and landscape at the Facultéd´Architecture La Cambre-Horta, ULB, Belgium (2010/2011).Providing education in several areas within architecture as well as in fine arts and scenography. He has experience in crafts, such as blacksmithing and carpentry.In architecture since May of 2018 he has been working as freelancer in temporary architecture, public space installations, social inclusion projects and tutoring building workshops for architecture students (e.g. Raumlabor, ON/OFF). From 2016 to 2018 he worked as assistant architect, in interior design and housing. Until 2016, he worked on several projects related to temporary architecture. Designed scenography for theater and performance (e.g. CITAC, TEUC, DEMO). In cinema he worked as decoration assistant, plateau assistant, props master (e.g. “Os Maias directed by João Botelho, 2013). As a visual artist he´s working primarily in drawing, painting, sculpture and ephemeral installations. He created and directed drawing workshops, (Coimbra 2006-2008). He has been participating in group exhibitions since 2003, in some as technical curator and since 2010 he´s done solo exhibitions. Based in Gothenburg, his interest goes towards exploring the intersection between art and architecture in a continuously searching process, using temporary work experiences as inspirational motif. Lately he has been collaborating with e.g. Raumlabor, Egnahemsfabriken, Chalmers University, Constructlab and created VESCstudio for architecture activity.(2020.10.25)
