When I was younger, I would often hear people use the adage: “If you choose a career you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” To a creative, the first question to be addressed in this regard is how one chooses when there are many directions that have great appeal. To a tech, there must be the effort to simplify or hack a process to make it more efficient. Somewhere between these two concepts is the foundation of my work ethic – Learn and Create.My first AAS in Advertising and Graphic Design was completed in 2016. Along with developing new skills with the Adobe Creative Cloud package, I spent this time focused on gaining greater artistic and marketing knowledge. Typography, illustration, photography and many other topics helped to fuel my innovative side. The greatest lesson I learned from working on this degree was that almost every line of work imaginable can benefit from creative thought.After taking a short period to weigh my options, I decided to pursue another degree. My Second AAS in Information Technology with a focus on Web Development was completed in 2020. Although my studies would be decidedly more analytical, I found my previous studies would be pertinent to work that I would need to complete. As I learned more about HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress and other technical concepts, my plan to bring all my talents into a more manageable world view became clear.I have held many positions where customer service was the primary duty. The experience I gained is the final piece that completes the picture. My ultimate goal is to use my skills to bring value-added service in a timely, helpful, and creative fashion. By uniting my degrees in this way, I can provide understandable viewpoints from a unique perspective. My constant desire to learn new things helps to make me a better creative overall.

The Information Assistant provides general college information and performs a variety of technical services related to admissions, records, financial aid and registration for students, faculty, staff and the general public, who contact the Enrollment Services Center Counter or Call Center. The Information Assistant serves as an intricate part of the college’s front door team and provides superior customer service; s/he supports the Enrollment Services goals and objectives.

The Workforce & Continuing Education (WCE) Records Technician performs registration functions for continuing education programs. The WCE Records Technician enters data from a variety of sources, primarily the continuing education registration form. This position requires daily contact with continuing education student emphasizing quality customer service. Additional responsibilities include: registering continuing education students in-person, over the phone, online; answering questions and/or guiding students to appropriate departments as needed; processing drops, adds, and transfers for all WCE courses; processing scholarships, fee-waivers, and other financial-related transactions; and maintaining WCE student records (e.g. name changes, duplicate records, address changes). This position requires an individual who can maintain confidentiality and security of records as well as work with minimal supervision. The Records Technician must maintain a thorough knowledge of institutional policies and procedures, especially those impacting the WCE Registration process, WCE programs, continuing education regulations, and registration data systems.
