From August of 2018 to August of 2021, I led Ashbury College's Summer School, as Principal, as well as Academic Workshop and Camp Director, for both on-site and on-line delivery models. Since June of 2016, I have been counselling students as Coordinator of our long standing IB DP CAS and High School Community Service programs. I continue to look for novel opportunities to serve the Ashbury community, as I will any community we have the good fortune of becoming a part of moving forward. I directed arguably one of the strongest high school Athletics programs in the nation. We ran 34 interscholastic teams, with an 80% participation rate amongst the student populace. Annual provincial and national championship accolades in an array of sports, such as golf, swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, rugby, cross country running, track and field, alpine skiing, snowboarding, soccer, field hockey and ice hockey. Moreover, a long list of most spirited and top sportsmanship awards. A true testament to the tireless and connected coaching over the years. After eight wonderful years teaching and coaching internationally, Ena and I decided to settle in Ottawa, despite intriguing professional opportunities offered in Montreal and Vancouver. I was the interim chair for the EAL Department for a year, before teaching mathematics once more. I went for a year of teaching internationally and stayed for eight. The incredible creative, active an service experiences I enjoyed while at HKIS and in the city of Hong Kong are immeasurable. My wife Ena and I are truly looking forward to our next international teaching/administration postings. We returned to start a family in Canada, but as a family we have always remained avid travellers. A new beginning, in international teaching, and undeniably, life changing. I am proud to say that I was one of the first people I know who made a professional teaching move abroad.
