During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I participated in two summer internships with the Central Intelligence Agency under the Directorate of Science and Technology. In May of 2002, I graduated Texas A&M University with a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering and immediately began with Diplomatic Security as a Security Engineering Officer conducting more than 30 Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) investigations and took advanced TSCM courses at the Inter-agency Training Center (ITC). In September 2004, I became a Special Agent and my first tour was the Houston Field Office. In the summer of 2008, I was assigned as one of two Assistant Regional Security Officers (ARSOs) in Honduras and received a Meritorious and Superior Honor Award during my two year tour. In 2010, I was assigned the Assistant Regional Security Officer Investigator (ARSO-I) to Mexico City and completed the Basic Consular Course (ConGen) and obtained a 3/3 (General Professional Proficiency) in Spanish. During my tenure in Mexico City, I have tackled multiple petition based visa fraud cases and a complex employee malfeasance case involving contractors and multiple employees and have had the opportunity to take the fraudulent document recognition and train the trainer course offered by the office of Anti-Terrorism Assistance and received a Superior Honor Award. In January 2012, I became the first Cyber-Tech agent for the Miami Field Office, developed a cooperating human source and have identified two document vending rings in my tenure. I have worked closely with the Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force (MECTF) expanding MFO's presence in cyber investigations and have targeted hackers who stole thousands of identities and have also penetrated critical infrastructure in the South Florida region. Additionally, I created MFO’s Field Training Officer’s Program consisting of a five day new agent orientation curriculum, procedural guidelines and an online reference guide.
