Bryan BenavidesElectrical Engineering Graduate (May 2024)Annandale, Virginia, United StatesI’ve always had a passion for electrical engineering from the time I built my first circuit to designing and building an autonomous vehicle senior design project. Thanks to my engineering coursework, I have gained both the problem solving and technical skills to keep innovating and developing electrical systems that are the backbone for amazing projects. My practical experience began at George Mason University, where I joined a group of 5 aspiring engineers for a senior design project to build a lightweight autonomous vehicle. This experience consisted of programming, testing and integrating sensor functionality to the vehicle for object and lane detection. Applying skills such as soldering, power regulating, circuitry and AutoCAD combined with 3D printing for the design of the chassis. This ultimately gave the vehicle a 315-degree range of view for object and lane detection. This project made me very passionate for embedded systems/hardware interfaces especially in the IOT sector.Afterward, I joined an unofficial internship opportunity with Bowman Consulting in the renewable energy sector. I learned and worked alongside licensed electrical engineers to design and install a grid photovoltaic system. This project ultimately increased the power efficiency of a college campus building by 50%, which reduced electrical grid costs by about 50% annually. It was also declared the first effort of decarbonization and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions at George Mason University. Now I seek to bring innovative solutions to electrical problems in the job market and continue to meet and network with my fellow engineers and enthusiasts. Please feel free to contact me through email. I look forward to meeting whoever reads this page.Skills: OrCAD PSpice, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, 3D Printing, Microcontrollers, Solar Panel Technology
