Design Build Project Manager: Part of the Design Build team managing the design process from the Conceptual/Schematic phases, through various Design Development sets and finally to Construction Documents. My main responsibility included document review through the different stages of document development. This required regular interaction with the Architect and Engineering teams during drawing development and was based on Owner/Developer Program Criteria and feedback. Our team also organized drawing review sessions with Trade Partners and internal team members to assist in drawings improvement and completion.The major components involved in the project were:West Expansion of the existing Broward Convention Center – partial demolition of the existing facility and expansion of 270K additional exhibit hall space. Complete demolition and relocation of the central energy plant. The renovation of the structure included N+1 redundancy for increased resiliency to the facility for power and HVAC systems.Hotel Tower – 800 room hotel including multiple ballrooms, restaurants, pool and spa amenities and is based on AAA’s 4 diamond designation. The Hotel is being constructed under the OMNI flagship brand.East Convention Center – a 700K SF standalone building with 350K SF of convention space. Ballrooms on multiple floors accessed via escalators and MRL elevators. Full height curtain wall glazing on the North and East elevations to provide panoramic views of the intercoastal. All MEP tie-in’s back to West Convention Center. Plaza – 7 acres of open plaza with pedestrian pathways between all the buildings and an open-air amphitheater for live entertainment.

This nearly $1Billion dollar multiphase GMP project is scheduled to be completed with construction in the Fall of 2019.Directly involved with project management duties in 3 out of 14 projects on this mega job. Involved in managing select trades for the construction of a 4th project (Hard Rock Live theater venue). Actively mentored Assistant Project managers through the submittals, change order, construction coordination, and general problem solving processes.

Construction of an underground valet tunnel (900 total LF) which involved one of the first major milestones in the overall project associated with the risk of liquidated damages. Tunnel construction involved 25-foot deep excavations, combination of soil mix wall & sheet piling system, and a phased deep well dewatering system. The tunnel work was performed adjacent to existing and active buildings. Coordinated all associated MEP and life safety systems based on conceptual construction drawings. Experienced significant amounts of unforeseen conflicts with the existing underground conditions and remained on schedule to maintain the original turnover date.

Construction of a three-story ramp inside the existing and active precast garage (connecting to the valet tunnel referenced above) The new ramp is mixture of structural steel and cast in place concrete. The project involved the negotiation and administration of over $2.5MM in Allowances related with creating a temporary active traffic lane around the construction to minimize the interference to the casino patrons at the main campus thoroughfare. Successfully returned over $1MM of these Allowances to the Owner. Between the lane diversion and the ramp construction there were approximately 30 separate trades involved.

Responsible for associated coordination between my assigned trades and the balance of the trades. Extensive coordination of interface between multiple trades for finish features of the project.

Construction of exterior two-story ramp into a live garage. The new ramp consists of cast in place concrete with structural steel modifications to the existing structural steel garage. Ramp construction was sequenced around the other phases of the overall project and had to maintain the same end date as the other projects. Included in this work was a $2MM EIFS façade improvement package to the South and West elevations of the existing garage.

Joined the company as part of the Development team working to complete Via Mizner phase I, a 366 unit luxury apartment building located in downtown Boca Raton. The $75MM Project is over 850K square feet and is the first phase of a three building master plan by the Developer. Daily responsibilities varied but the main focus was on change order management, resolution of outstanding issues with General Contractor as well as the Design Team. Additionaly involved in project closeout, permitting, FF&E (tracking, scheduling and delivery) and punchlist.Involved in the initial stages of development of Phase II and Phase III which are slated to be a Five Star 164 room Hotel and 80 unit luxury Condominium respectfully. Projects are currently in the early development phase.

Paseo Del Mar ($42MM) - Managed the project through the foundation stage of this multi structure 261 unit apartment complex located in the Victoria Park area of Fort Lauderdale. At completion the project will include various tenant amenities such as garden style apartments at grade level, fitness center, retail spaces, and clubhouse with pool and spa. The campus will include 4 buildings with approximately 565,000 GSF of usable space and a 255 car precast parking garage.

One Plantation Place ($44MM) - Joined part of the Project Management team after foundations for the 321 unit luxury apartment building which included two 12-story towers, a standalone precast garage and clubhouse. The buildings on the campus encompassed over 500,000 GSF.and included high end amenities such as imported Italian cabinets, granite counter tops and top of the line appliances. The project was a GMP and with approximately $2MM in approved changes. The project team was able to return savings to the Owner at completion and remain under the revised budget. This project was awarded LEED Silver certification.

Museum of Discovery and Science Eco-Discovery Center Addition ($9MM). This project was a 31,000SF 2-story reinforced concrete and structural steel building expansion approximately doubling the exhibit space of the existing facility. As part of the expansion our responsibilities included to oversee the construction of the infrastructure for various exhibits including the North American River Otter exhibit and the Everglades Airboat Simulation Ride. Other project highlights included, a fully glass enclosed ECO space machine-room-less elevator, update the fire alarm system for the entire building, facilitate one time product approval for two large acrylic viewing panels, and installation of a 180 Ton Chiller in the existing chiller plant. All construction was performed while the existing museum was open for business 365 days of the year. This project is pursing LEED certification.

Midtown 24 a.k.a The Residences at the Fountains ($60MM) One of the newly developed mixed-use projects located in the heart of Plantation Midtown. This project consists of 236 apartment units and 15 flex/retail spaces totaling 251 units (365 parking spaces). The structure is over 700,000 SF made up of a parking garage pedestal followed with two apartment towers rising from the garage. Even with over $1.8MM in approved change orders the project attained the Certificate of Occupancy within the originally scheduled time frame.

200 Las Olas Circle: ($41MM) With an “Old Chicago” brick architectural style that is sensitive to its historic surroundings, 200 Las Olas Circle, located in downtown Ft Lauderdale features 186,516 square feet of Class A office space in downtown’s newest mixed-use development. The 16 story 445,000 SF building includes 17,538 square feet of ground-level retail shops near Las Olas Riverfront, as well as six levels of parking (541 parking spaces).

The building totaled 111 units, 405,000 SF including a 5- level parking garage which included 233 spaces with the pool recreation deck on the top level of the garage structure

The first package involves construction of foundations for a 4MM SF, 10,000 car parking structure, relocation of a 30’ deep sewage lift station with 265KVA stand-by-generator and associated utilities. Also included is installation of 24” water mains as well of the full restoration of the affected roads.Responsible for direction and training for two junior level Engineers and one College intern.Coral Springs Medical Center ($8MM): A three story medical office building with a connector bridge attached to an existing hospital. This 57,000 sf mixed use facility included the interior build out of 14 custom Doctor offices.
