I've worked as a Rail conductor on the Norflok & Southern Railroad (NS) 2000-2006 and the Ann Arbor Railroad 2007-2009. I was responsible for switching tracks and lining up cars per destination and by hazmat rules related to there alignment in the train for the safest travel for the crew and the train itself. As the conductor you are in charge of all the cars in the train and knowing what you are hauling along with the paperwork that is assigned to each car in your consist. I was promoted to train dispatcher in March of 2009 and worked until the closing of Hallett Tower 09/06/2019 and the elimination of the dispatcher positions at Hallett Tower. The positions were moved to Witchita, Kansas. As a Dispatcher I worked with six railroads including the Ann Arbor (AA) in coordinating deliveries during various times during my shift. the other rail roads include the CSXT, NS, CN, Canadian National Railroad, Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad and the Great Lakes Central at six different points of delivery and acceptance of cars on the Ann Arbor railroad. I was also responsible for communicating with any foreign railroad dispatchers, yardmasters, and train masters when needed as well as the crews involved when arriving on the Ann Arbor railroad along with my crews that were switching cars in the yard and on the road. I also worked as a Forklift operator from 05/01/2006-09/20/2007 at MOBUS it was located on the supplier park and worked side by side with Toledo Jeep Wrangler Plant. I was trained on 26 out of 27 fork lift stations to be able to fill in when needed, from loading frames, axles, tires, transmissions and unloading trailers in a timely manner as they were arriving. I was also trained to sequence the parts as they were to head out to the lines in the order they were required to be in for the line workers. In my free time I volunteer for our local high school the Whitmer Panthers as the Athletic Club President. I am required to hold meetings once a month as well as oversee our selling of merchandise and concession stand at sporting events such as Football, Soccer, Vollleyball and Basketball games. All money raised helps out all the sports teams. I also help our athletic club organize an annual reverse raffle that 350+ attend the spring event.
