I am the science teacher on the mixed 7th and 8th grade team. As a member of the middle school science department, I have been involved in the complete reconstruction of the science curriculum in 6th through 8th grade. Of the 12 newly written units, I co-wrote 11 of them. This curriculum made a drastic adjustment as we switched to an NGSS-aligned pedagogy based on Ambitious Science Teaching. I have also participated in an ongoing partnership with Penn State University's science education program in training new science teachers prior to their student teaching placement, and have had numerous student teachers.
