Developed curriculum for over 50 students, lead classroom and shop instruction. The curriculum mirrored ASE/NATEF requirements for certification with an entry level class and a second year class designed to build on the entry level skills. As instructor, strong relationships with area dealerships were built and maintained. These relationships helped with job placement for students wanting to work as well as stay current with manufacture technology on late model vehicles.

Performed vehicle diagnosis and repairs on all vehicle systems on classic vehicles as well as modern custom vehicles. This included custom vehicle systems like retrofit power accessories, radios, and air suspension systems. Performed engine, brake, and suspension modifications designed around customer needs or demands. Installed after market air conditioning systems on vehicles as a retrofit. With full custom builds I disassembled the vehicles, documented and cataloged removed parts. Then once a build was finished I performed final assembly of body panels, vehicle wiring and plumbing. Also performed final test drives to verify the vehicles were ready for customer delivery. Assisted in detailing vehicles for car shows, customer vehicle deliveries, and for showroom vehicles.

I transitioned to BMW of Wichita after the buy out of Joe Self BMW occurred. The new ownership had no previous BMW dealer within the company or area. With experience in a higher volume BMW dealership in Indianapolis, I assisted in organizing the special tool department according to BMW recommendations. As well as itemizing special tools the new dealership would need for servicing late model BMWs. With a new warranty officer at the dealership I assisted the officer is operations of the KSD programs as well as coding warranty repairs. I also assisted the IT department in proper operations of the BMW diagnostic and programming software. I took on these duties to help the new shop reach a higher level of efficiency, however my duties associated with my job title remained to perform full vehicle diagnosis, repairs and maintenance.

Worked as a full service BMW technician. When I applied for and was hired for the position it was not public that the dealership was in negotiations to be purchased buy another area dealer group. For the time at Joe Self I performed warranty and customer pay repairs and maintenance on BMWs. Quotes were written for the service advisors to then be able to offer to the customers. I performed test drives for all vehicles before being returned to the customers. The shop computer system for ticket dispatching and write up was Reynolds and Reynolds. With my previous experience with this system I was able to help the shop become more efficient with processing quoted work for Service Advisors to access without needing to directly talk to the technicians

I began working at the dealership in the shop as an apprentice through a high school work study program in the summer between my sophomore and junior year in high school. I worked under supervision of a top level (Level 1) BMW STEP graduate. I worked with the apprentice until I graduated high school. Then I was formally transitioned to a full service technician. During my time as a technician I attended BMW/Mini training classes until I became a Level 1 Mini technician and Level 2 BMW technician. I spent the majority of my time working on the Mini Service team. During that time I was given 8 new hire employees to train in Mini repair. I also organized Technician/Service Writer meetings to promote a healthy work environment and increase productivity and customer satisfaction.
