With customers around the world covering vintage and aftermarket automotive upgrades. • Responsible for all packaging used by Seagate's CSS division worldwide.• Designing new packaging to support high value complex data storage systems.• Produce packaging designs and qualify on behalf of Seagate customers• Evaluating existing packaging and updating to reduce cost / enhance performance.• Ensure all packaging passes industry standards and customer specific, shock, vibration and temperature & humidity qualification testing.• Organising and conducting qualification testing using internal and external test facilities.• Designing packaging to be cost optimised for the geographic location in which the packaging is to be manufactured.• Supporting internal and external customers on all matters relating to packaging.• Evaluating our worldwide suppliers to ensure all packaging conforms to Seagate standards.• Liaising with packaging vendors to produce samples and pre production packs to support initial customer shipments.• Produce full engineering drawings using the latest in 3D cad software and packaging specific design tools.• Liaise with project managers to ensure all hardware is available to support packaging qualification.• Carry out pre and post test hardware inspections to ensure the packaging has protected the product during packaging qualification.• Generate full technical reports following qualification testing.• Review designs, Qualification test plans and reports from third party vendors and provide technical feedback.• project management from early product development to full deployment in multiple countries. • developing internal packaging systems to streamline the interface between the company and packaging design team.• responsible for resolving any packaging related issues from supply base thought to customer fulfilment across the entire CSS division.

• Responsible for all packaging designs for commercial, medical, aerospace, electronics and Ministry of Defence.• Dealing with customer enquiries either first hand or from the sales team• Supporting the sales team on a technical level• Calculating static stress and dynamic stress which may be seen during product shipment• Performing drop tests on new packs and producing reports for submission to customers • Designing and ordering production tooling and artwork/screens required for printing• Manufacturing the first off sample for approval, using the latest in packaging CAD software, CNC Sample table machinery and production equipment.• Producing production drawings using AutoCAD Version 6

• Designing bespoke equipment and parts for automotive, aerospace and scientific applications• Producing full manufacturing CAD drawings using pro-engineer 3D CAD software• Implimenting the use of a traceable system to aid the manufacture of machined components used in the Automotive & Aerospace industry.• Setting up a quality system to ISO 2001• Dealing with sub-contract manufactures and suppliers• Project management• Hands on building of complete assemblies in a workshop environment
