As a Stanford undergraduate, I wrote a thesis on the moral requirement to conduct humanitarian interventions. After 9/11, I felt compelled to leave the non-profit I worked for to enlist in the Army. I thought “if not me, then who?” From this point, I have roamed down a path less traveled, gaining a wide breadth of experience as an air defense officer, datalink architect, project manager, and space professional, where I have led multi-disciplinary teams planning military operations, exercises and demonstrations. This breath of experience allows me to look at problems from different perspectives and see the larger picture, and attending Air Force Weapons School helped refined my ability to cut through nonsense, identify the root of problems, and implement innovative solutions. I enjoy both the methodological process and the creative nature of developing solutions to problems.I have excelled in developing command and control architectures and non-kinetic operations. From 2010 to 2018, I was the command and control lead for Black Dart, the Department of Defense’s largest live-fly, live-fire counter-UAV event, where we integrated military weapon systems with developmental systems from industry to produce a consolidated operational picture to engage this novel threat. In 2017, while deployed to the 609th Air Operations Center, I applied my knowledge to craft an operation to defeat UAVs threatening our deployed forces, which led to my selection as the Air Force Reserve’s 2018 Citizen Airman of the Year. I am passionate about my work because it helps to keep our nation safe—both those of us at home and those deployed overseas. One of my most rewarding professional experiences was in 2019 as the Assistant Director of Operations at the 533rd Training Squadron, where I helped lead a team to completely overhaul Undergraduate Space Training, creating a warfighter-centric, threat-based approach to learning space operations. I was also fortunate enough to be able to teach classes and mentor our incoming space professionals and work with some of the finest instructors in the Space Force.Specialties: Leading multi-disciplinary teams, project management, developing strategy, problem analysis, counter-UAV/UAS/drone operations, air and missile defense, space operations, threat assessment, command and control, and datalink architecture (JICO), Weapons Officer, instruction, teaching, curriculum development.
