I am a current EIU double master’s candidate in Health Promotion (M.S.) and Aging Studies (M.S.), as well as an Old Dominion University graduate with a B.S. in Health Services Administration. I chose administration and Geriatrics as my focus I believe the key to improving health outcomes relies on the aging population and I want to be a part of those changing the future of the healthcare industry. As I navigate my professional journey, I have put effort into improving my communication and technical skills through various leadership roles and my membership in the historically black fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. In addition, I have an extensive background in patient services, billing, and insurance through my experience at Carle Health. However, what I enjoy most is the opportunity to help someone. I embody this passion as well through my experience as an Associate Residence Director at EIU where I supervise the front desk and manage a residence hall. Taking these acquired skills from my experiences and applying them to the healthcare realm has allowed me to improve health literacy in patients.
