Principal Financial Operations Auditor – Audit Assurance & Advisory Services

Findlay, Ohio

While serving in this role, I provided team members with coaching and feedback on decision-making, communication, critical thinking, time management, results orientation, and teamwork. I evaluated suggested remedial measures, presented the draft audit report to audit and auditee leadership, and discussed findings with audit management and the auditee. By carrying out engagements in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors standards and internal audit standards subject to quality assessment reviews, I made sure the audit engagement team followed the scope and timeline. In addition, I managed the onboarding of forty-nine new full-time employees, interns, and contractors while serving as the team leader. I oversaw the training initiative, assisted in the development of the audit training site with internal and external training sources, training tracker, checklist for onboarding, additional learning resources, reference documents, and a simulated SOX exercise for new hires. I have conducted advisory reviews on new internal processes, operational components and the three-year implementation of RightAngle application. The values driven in this role include the following:- Uncovered $2.7M shortfall in liquid inventory during the yearly refinery evaluation, including assessment of measurement methods. - Detected discrepancies in warehouse cycle counts, amounting to $175K overstatement in inventory levels. - Guided team leader and supervised integration of forty-nine new hires, interns, and contractors. - Spearheaded training program by developing and launching audit training hub featuring internal and external resources, training tracker, onboarding checklist, supplementary materials, reference documents, and simulated SOX exercise for newcomers.

Advanced Scheduler

Findlay, Oh

In order to discuss feedstock demand and excess forecast for purchase/sale arrangements, I communicated with the MPC Feedstock Trader and the Refinery Feedstock Coordinator. I carefully examined the daily Risk Report to ensure that the provided volume and price correspond with the traders' pricing days in order to obtain the right position in derivative trading. Here, I also evaluated general terms and conditions for outright feedstock purchases as well as particular contractual stipulations. For the purpose of quantity reporting and quality analysis, I chose outside inspection services. Additionally, I worked on a number of lease versus build evaluations for feedstock tankage with business development. This role allowed me to achieve the following:- Oversaw refinery feedstock supply chain pool of approximately 34M barrels, comprising natural gasoline, naphtha, raffinate, alkylate, vacuum gas oil, and light cycle oil for legacy MPC refineries.- Recognized for updating supply five-year business plan to ensure accurate supply costs are available to refining.- Prepared and presented monthly variance analysis of actual versus forecast feedstock inventories to management. - Coordinated daily deliveries of 80K to 100K barrels per day with MPC Marine, third-party marine, Marathon Pipeline (MPL), and common carrier pipeline (Buckeye, Explorer, Teppco) for transportation via barge, truck, ocean-going vessel, and pipeline.Additional experience as Scheduler – Midwest Light Products, Supply, Distribution & Planning and Advanced Dispatch Analyst – Terminal, Transport & Marine at Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) in Findlay, OH.
