Wrote and staffed numerous Senate Bills for Senator Murray, including SB 1 - The California Solar Initiative (2006). Worked with the Schwarzenegger Administration, legislative committees, legislative staff, advocates and numerous solar stakeholders to pass and enact $3.2 billion worth of incentives for the installation of 3,000 megawatts of solar energy in California.Conducted hundreds of meetings with lobbyists, staff, constituents, executives and elected officials.Staffed the Senator on several policy and fiscal committees.Additional accomplishments:--SB 1436 – The Consumer Protection against Computer Spy ware Act (2004). Wrote and guided California’s first anti-spyware statute through the legislative process. Worked with advocates, executives and general counsels from our nation’s leading technology companies, such as Apple, Google and Microsoft, to get this contentious bill passed and signed into law.--SB 355 – Anti-Phishing Act of 2005. Wrote and staffed this first in the nation law that recognized and criminalized “phishing” - a modern form of identity theft whereby criminals set up fraudulent web sites to induce consumers into divulging their personal and financial information.
