In my time at Cromwell Environmental / Cromwell Solar my responsibilities and titles varied quickly. I had responsibilities relating to installation, design, and operations management. At this company I installed, designed, or managed over 200 projects equating to over 2.8 MW of both residential and commercial solar PV systems. Design duties included site visits, shade analysis, preliminary design, relaying design details to customers, final design, and approving other designers’ work. I was often also responsible for permit and utility interconnection applications. In addition, I oversaw the creation of engineering documents, sub-contractor scope or works, final BOMs, installation designs, and as-built documents. Installation Manager duties included being directly responsible for a team of ten. The team consisted of designers, crew leaders, and crew members. Responsibilities included training sessions, scheduling teams, time tracking, safety meetings, OSHA regulations, and other operations management activities.Additional duties included assisting sales personnel with initial bid estimates, and tabulating and analyzing individual project budgets and revenues. I also oversaw project material procurement and monitored and maintained credit limits with suppliers. Was also responsible for scheduling with clients, subcontractors, and inspectors, overseeing final commissioning, and implementing monitoring solutions. Also, I created learning materials and taught classes to further educate all team members with the final goal of NABCEP certification or Journeyman licensing.
