As TQM coordinator, I was responsible for implementing a quality system in the Rolling Division (1,000 people). During my tenure I identified all critical product characteristics and processes, implemented measurement assurance for these critical characteristics, provided a method for controlling the critical processes, and led quality improvement teams to reduce variability and improve quality levels for critical processes. -

I used designed experiments to reduce variability in production processes, designed and implemented control charts, implemented inspection standards MIL-STD-105 and MIL-STD-414, simulated production processes using GenMod, developed cost estimates and line layouts for new weapons systems, conducted work method analyses and time studies, and developed software to calculate learning curve parameters. I was promoted from Associate Engineer to Engineer on 01 June 1987.
