Hohenfels, Germany

Senior Brigade Trainer; Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Hohenfels, Germany (2011 – 2012) • Senior brigade trainer for the largest U.S. operated maneuver training area in Europe. Responsible for planning, observing, and controlling tough, realistic combined arms training for U.S. and Multinational Armies in preparation for worldwide deployment. • Oversaw the planning, coordination and execution of the first Decisive Action Training Environment rotation, now implemented throughout the Army’s training centers. Positively impacted the training of our NATO allies and improved the security posture and cooperation of the European defense team.

Maiwand, Afghanistan

Commander; 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany and Afghanistan (2009 – 2011)• Centrally selected in top 15% of peers to command; 1st armor officer selected to command a Stryker equipped infantry battalion. • Trained, resourced, and led 800+ Soldiers. Responsible for the maintenance of 85 Stryker vehicles and 76 wheeled vehicles valued over $228M. Conducted sustained combat operations in Afghanistan simultaneously with civil support and stability operations in a highly contested area of the country. • Unified 7 different multinational organizations under a centralized command and control infrastructure that synchronized and aligned coalition efforts. Designed and constructed a series of obstacles and check points that dramatically reduced the movement of insurgent traffic through the Maiwand District and the flow of weapons into Kandahar.

Baghdad, Iraq

Deputy Commander; 2nd Cavalry Regiment Baghdad, Iraq (2007 – 2009)• Deputy Commander of 4000+ Soldier, Stryker equipped Cavalry Regiment in Baghdad and Diyala Province, Iraq. Led a dynamic and talented staff of 150+ senior officers for 12 months of combat, civil support and stability operations. Led the Regiment for 3 months during the Commander’s absence. Responsible for $700M in equipment and resources. • Planned, resourced, coordinated and led the Regiments transition from holding operations in Baghdad to clearing operations in Diyala in less than 30 days. Led the Regiment in the last, large scale multinational clearing operation in Iraq concluding with the successful turnover of the Diyala Province to Iraqi Security Forces.

Vilseck, Germany

Executive Officer; 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany (2006 – 2007)• Led the logistical planning and operations effort for a Stryker equipped 4000+ Soldier, Cavalry Regiment. Responsible for the maintenance management of 308 Stryker vehicles, over 2,000 wheeled vehicles, and supply accountability for equipment valued over $2B. Managed a $70M annual budget. • Re-stationed over 3,900 soldiers and family members and 1,500 pieces of equipment from Fort Lewis, Washington to Vilseck, Germany. One of only two re-stationing efforts of this kind in the Army’s history. Established an inventory process that regained accountability of over $25M in Army property.

Iraq And Fort Lewis, Washington

Executive Officer; 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry, Fort Lewis, Washington and Iraq (2005 – 2006)• Second in command of a 750+ Soldier squadron. Responsible for directly leading and managing a squadron staff of 30+ officers and enlisted Soldiers charged with advising the commander and directing the operations and logistics of the squadron. Responsible for overseeing management of $350M in equipment including 170 support vehicles and 59 Strykers. • Oversaw highly successfully logistics operations spanning over 400 kilometers and networking multiple logistics hubs. Successfully executed the largest aerial resupply operation conducted in Iraq. Ensured sustained combat operations that stifled the flow of insurgents and weapons moving along the Euphrates River Valley.

Fort Lewis, Washington And Iraq

Operations Officer; 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry, Fort Lewis, Washington and Iraq (2004 – 2005)• Senior Operations Officer of a 600+ Soldier Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition Squadron. Trained and deployed the squadron to Iraq during the height of the insurgency. Conducted combat operations in Mosul, Tal Afar, Singar and the Syrian Border. Planed, coordinated and trained a 400+ man Iraqi infantry battalion. • Successfully interdicted the flow of insurgent activity along the Syrian border, reducing the level of combat operations in Mosul. Recognized as an expert in high-stress conventional combat operations at the tactical and operational levels.

Personally responsible for the training and professional development of U.S. Army, Marine, and international students through three iterations of the 18-week captains career course. The subject matter expert on the application of the Army’s warfighting doctrine from company to brigade level, including the military decision-making process, development and briefing of operations orders, and synchronizing of battlefield operation systems.
