Network Elements, Inc. developed new types of network equipment building blocks by integrating its advanced ASICs with innovative high-speed optics, electronics, and software cores. The company provided customers with fully tested modular solutions incorporating optical interfaces and wirespeed processing for layers 2/3 through layers 4/7. These multi-gigabit/sec IP, Ethernet, ATM, SONET, and DWDM processing engines were integral to the next generation of switches, routers, gateways, servers and network edge devices. • Twice promoted within two years of service. Helped our CIO raise over $72M in VC funding by stabilizing business-critical systems, reducing operating expenses by 25%, and increasing availability of ASIC design and verification tools during series A/B rounds.• Led the IT department, including network administrators, DBAs, senior Unix administrators, senior Linux administrators, and co-managed services for 80 senior-level ASIC design and hardware engineers.• Managed a two-year hardware and software budget of $5.5M, and implemented change management plans for all Sun, Cisco, IBM, and Dell hardware.• Directed the administration of Mentor Graphics ASIC design, analysis, and verification tools.• Directed relocation to a 60,000SF facility. Responsible for developing the project plans for all voice, data, physical-level cabling, HVAC, security systems, server rooms, and network configurations.• Planned, designed, programmed, and built NEI’s web presence, including our extranet, intranet, ERP/MRP system, IT help desk, inventory database, and other database driven projects• Designed, built, and configured all of NEI’s Windows-based servers, including active directory FSMO, Exchange Enterprise mail cluster, RAID-based file servers, print servers, RIP engines, CVS repositories, Anti-Virus push server, DNS servers, SQL cluster servers, and web servers.
