About Bryan Escobar
In May of 2023, I graduated from Worcester State University with a Bachelor's of Science. From May 2021 to August 2023, I was a SUMR/GEAR-UP student at the UPenn, in which I have been able to gain valuable experience about different social research methods. I have focused on two different research initiatives: the importance of mental health care access for trauma patients during the pandemic, and how physical activity can have an impact on cardiovascular health, sleep quality, and cognitive function.I am extremely proud to be bilingual in both English and Spanish. Through my years as an undergraduate student, I have grown to understand the importance of having bilingual healthcare providers in all clinical settings. As a Latino PCA, I have been able to help Spanish-speaking patients and families when needed. I strongly believe that as a Latino care provider, I can positively advocate to make sure that language barriers to not prevent Latinx patients from receiving the care they deserve. At the end of the day, we are all human beings, and we all deserve to receive world-class healthcare, regardless of who we are.
