Crown and Flint was the result of my 10+ year e-commerce journey from product design to manufacturing and supply chain management, B2C distribution/shipping, marketing, as well as my professional background in finance and accounting. C&F turned into a profitable 9-figure business very quickly and was passionately led by my own personal mission to help solve some of the vast inefficiencies of brick+mortar industry and its bulky multi-hub distribution model that drives higher prices to consumers and unnecessary damages the environment.Armed with 1 MacBook and the knowledge learned from my previous ventures, I created an ecom test store that initially sold various fashion accessories. Within the first 3 months with no outside capital, I negotiated multiple 3PF warehouses that sourced, stocked and shipped a variety of consumer products and over 5,000 SKUs. I structured the operations so I never had to see/touch a single product, and sold the products before net90 which allowed me to grow organically and retain 100% of the company through its acquisition. Our unique direct-to-consumer model, based out of our new fulfillment centers in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, China, near our manufacturing towns, allowed us to obtain over 85% gross and 40% net profit margins on all sales, and eventually ship to 100+ countries directly without my US based employees ever having to see or manage the product or manage shipping in any way, allowing us to keep low overhead with a small but talented team solely focused on designing or curating new products, and marketing. This was a breakthrough as I had spend several years prior dealing with the not-so-fun intricacies of inventory/logistics/shipping at previous brands.One of our stores in particular, Diadem (now absorbed by new owner), was Shopify's fastest growing online-only brand, and we continued to have steady growth until I decided to sell the business to focus on spending time with my wife and young kids.
