I am a biological data scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, specializing in data engineering and data analytics touching the fields of medical countermeasure development, computational biology, bioinformatics, and biophysics. My background includes projects building actionable databases housing biological and therapeutics data, next generation sequence (NGS) screening tools, biothreat detection and surveillance, clinical diagnostics, toxicogenomic analyses, microbiome work, and biomarker discovery. I have demonstrated success leading highly technical interdisciplinary teams towards solving complex challenges on large government research programs. I am a founding member and lead biological data scientist for Battelle’s UltraSEQ threat classification tool and ThreatSEQ™ DNA screening web service, an R&D 100 winning state-of-the-art platform for screening synthetic oligonucleotides for controlled pathogens and sequences of concern. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Ohio State University Biophysics program where my research focuses on utilizing RNA structural modeling and dynamics to better understand prokaryotic protein translation and regulation and ribosome biogenesis
