Pancreatic Cancer Mortality Trends in Georgia: 2000-2020: The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in pancreatic cancer mortality in Georgia from 2000 to 2020 based on sociodemographic characteristics. The Georgia Department of Public Health’s OASIS data were analyzed for annual crude mortality rates for PC, and the Annual Percent Change (APC) from 2000 to 2020 was calculated using the National Cancer Institute’s Joinpoint software. Dr. Dandy’s Animal Learning and Behavior Lab, Department of Psychological Science’s Measuring Aggression in Betta splendens: The purpose of this exploratory study was to assess if results from previous research with other fish species, regarding aggressive behaviors and the startle stimulus, would extend to Male Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens). Using the marble startle stimulus technique, male Betta splenden’s time to re-engage with a conspecific was measured. Male Betta splendens were tested in their home tanks once a day for five days and using a stopwatch and video recordings of the tests, time to re-engage and type of aggressive display was observed. Supervisor: Kristina Dandy, PhD• Adhered to all ethical and methodological guidelines for handling and maintaining Betta fish’s transportation to the testing room and testing.• Conducted testing phases by removing barrier apparatus, recorded interaction with GoPro camera, introduced marble startle stimulus, measured time to engage and re-engage using a stopwatch.• Coded aggressive behaviors using video recordings for data analysis.Presented at 2019 SEPA Conference in Jacksonville, FL.
