At Merchbar I assumed an all encompassing full-stack role, working closely with the CTO to implement numerous priorities and maintain existing infrastructure. I led front-end development initiatives, resulting in significant UX/UX improvements. I implemented style and coding standards, increasing design consistency. I streamlined developer workflow by contributing to the existing test framework, documenting best practices, and consistently removing legacy code. I developed and maintained API endpoints, admin tools, critical import scripts, and database architecture. I leveraged AI tools such as Chat GPT, Github Co-Pilot, boosting coding efficiency and mitigating developer staff bandwidth limitations. My primary role was that of a full-stack developer for the Travel and Cruises vertical, responsible for building out new site features, developing the back-end custom data management system, and updating the company-wide React component library. I had the responsibility of implementing the site redesigns in 2012 and again in 2016. I was effectively the team lead developer from 2020 until I was officially promoted in April of 2022, and was responsible for overseeing semi-annual “Best Cruises/Hotels/Vacations” ranking launches. Before my tenure was over, I took pride in ensuring that the new “Data Management System” was complete, documentation was expanded and updated, and all legacy code had been retired. During my time at the “Worldwide Leader in Sports,” my primary role was to create, maintain, and document the jQuery/JavaScript libraries responsible for initializing the site-wide video player. This also involved collaborating with any other developer teams who wished to make use of the player in their products (e.g. “Sportscenter Feed”, “30 for 30” site redesign, “ESPN Ocho” Windows 8 app). After two years, my video team was merged with the live event streaming service -“WatchESPN” - at which time I aided in developing that platform as well.
